You're coming to Milan for a concert at the Meazza stadium, for AC Milan vs Inter, for the derby, for I-Days at Ippodromo La Maura. You're looking for somewhere to stay near San Siro. The obvious options — hotels around the stadium, B&Bs on Piazzale Lotto — are often expensive, booked months ahead, or both.
Here's an alternative: a whole apartment on Via Ricciarelli, in residential San Siro, 20 minutes on foot from the stadium and 5 by tram.
How far it really is
Via Daniele Ricciarelli 13 → Giuseppe Meazza Stadium:
On foot: 20 minutes. You walk down Via Ricciarelli, turn onto Via delle Forze Armate, cut through Via Novara. Wide sidewalks, quiet neighborhood. Even after a night concert you can walk back without issue.
By tram: 5 minutes. Tram 16 stop "San Siro Stadio" is a 4-minute walk from the door. The last useful tram runs around 00:30 — check ATM schedules on the day.
By taxi: 8–10 minutes in normal traffic, 20–25 during concert egress.
Why an apartment, not a hotel
A hotel around the stadium on a big concert night often costs €250–400/night. Quiet isn't guaranteed either — Piazzale Lotto and Via Novara are post-event transit zones.
A whole apartment, five blocks deeper into the residential grid, gives you: a kitchen for eating something before you head out (or after), a washing machine for the concert t-shirt, real quiet — Via Ricciarelli is residential and Saturday night has almost no traffic. Up to 4–5 people sleep without paying per-head hotel rates.
Concerts at San Siro Stadium
Main season: May–July. 2026 confirmed names include Tiziano Ferro, Eros Ramazzotti, Cesare Cremonini, Irama, Geolier, Achille Lauro, Iron Maiden, Ligabue, Max Pezzali. The Meazza only hosts shows of 50,000+ capacity.
Practical tip: if the concert ends at 23:30, the outbound tram is packed for 40 minutes. On foot it's the same 20 minutes with more air and fewer crowds.
AC Milan and Inter matches
Serie A matches typically kick off at 15:00, 18:00, or 20:45. European cup games at 21:00. The Derby della Madonnina happens twice a year — that's when the neighborhood rhythm shifts most.
From Casa Ricciarelli you hear supporters walking down Via Ricciarelli 90 minutes before kickoff, groups heading toward the tram. Contained, folkloric noise — not bothersome.
Ippodromo SNAI La Maura — I-Days
The I-Days festival is held at the Ippodromo, not the stadium. Distance from Casa Ricciarelli: 22 minutes on foot, or two tram stops plus a walk. Same neighborhood.
What to do before or after the show
Within a 15-minute walk from Casa Ricciarelli: Mercato Wagner (closed evenings, perfect in the morning), Parco Tre Torri at CityLife, Leonardo's Horse statue, De Montel Thermal Baths (former liberty stables reopened as spa in 2024).
